Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on July 26, approved a treaty to set global standards for the treatment of the disabled. The panel voted 13 to 6 to send to the floor an amended draft resolution to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities, a pact signed by the United States in 2009 and sent to the Senate for ratification in May 2012.
