Interim Transitional National Council
Founding Statement
The Interim Transitional National Council is a body formed during the uprising by anti-Qadhafi rebels. The following is the Council’s founding statement, agreed to at its first meeting on March 5, 2011, in Benghazi. The Council derives its legitimacy from the city councils which run the liberated cities, and which had been formed by the revolutionists of the 17th February to safeguard the revolutionary gains and achieve their goals.
