Ambassador John Dauth
Australia is the twelfth largest monetary contributor to the United Nations and has the fourth-highest number of troops committed to UN duties, primarily in East Timor. It has also taken an active role in arms control, international development, and humanitarian affairs. It joined the UN on November 1, 1945. John Dauth was appointed Australia’s UN Ambassador in 2001.
