On the morning of July 15, 2014, four New Mexico state police officers arrived at an Albuquerque apartment complex to serve an arrest warrant for a woman suspected of involvement in a crime ring. After being unable to locate the suspect, they spotted a man and a woman near a parked SUV nearby and went to investigate.
