The Center for Immigration Studies is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit research organization, founded in 1985. Its mission is to provide policymakers, the academic community, news media, and concerned citizens with reliable information about the social, economic, environmental, security, and fiscal consequences of legal and illegal immigration into the United States. Steven Camarota was the lead researcher on a contract with the Census Bureau examining the quality of immigrant data in the American Community Survey.
