Professional Sports Organizations Must Grant Waivers To Accommodate Disable Athletes
This case was granted certiorari on September 26, 2000, and was affirmed on May 29, 2001. In a 7-to-2 decision, the Court ruled that professional sports organizations are required to grant selective waivers of their rules of competition in order to accommodate disabled athletes in this case, allowing the use of a motorized cart during a professional golf tournament.
