Each year, it conducts a series of national championship events, such as the U.S. Open and U.S. Senior Open. Last year, the USGA won a case with facts similar to PGA Tour, Inc. v. Casey Martin in the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. A disabled golfer had sued for the right to use a cart in USGA tournaments, but the circuit court ruled that walking was an integral part of the game of golf.
