Most speakers inthe Security Council today expressed support for a French-sponsored draftresolution to put an end to the conflict in Georgia, but Russia’srepresentative rejected the text, saying it separated individual elements ofthe six-point “Moscow peace plan and re-interpreted them for propagandapurposes. Brokered by France on behalf of the European Union, the planwas announced in Moscowon August 12.
