Senator Hutchinson was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996. He served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1984 to 1992 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1992 to 1996. He is a member of the following committees: Armed Services, where he chairs the Personnel Subcommittee; Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, where he chairs the Aging Subcommittee; Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry; Veterans’ Affairs; and the Special Committee on Aging.
