Three members of the Senate Armed Services Committee ― Senators John McCain (AZ-R), Lindsay Graham (SC-R), and Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) ― recently released a statement calling for the provision of arms to support the Syrian opposition to President Bashar al-Assad. The senators recommended sending “weapons, tactical intelligence, communications equipment, financing, and medical supplies.” They also proposed unmanned flights to monitor human rights abuses and provide intelligence to the rebel forces.
