On April 2, the Trump Administration annnounced plans to reverse an Obama-era plan to make automo­biles more fuel-efficient. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt said he had determined that current greenhouse gas (GHG) emission standards for cars and light trucks for model years 2022 to 2025 are “not appropriate.” He also announced a joint process with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to develop rules to set new GHG emission stardards and Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards.
