Representative Holt, of the Twelfth District of New Jersey, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1998. He was a professor at Swarthmore College from 1981 to 1989 and Assistant Director of the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab from 1989 to 1998.
