Airport Passenger Fees

A group representing commercial airports has asked Congress to lift the $4.50 “passenger facility charge” (PFC) added to each plane ticket. The fee is currently capped at $4.50 per airline ticket. The charges are set by airports and are funneled into construction and maintenance. The group, the Airport Council International–North America (ACI-NA), says the money is needed to pay for new airport infrastructure. A study based on surveys of their members found that airport expansions and repairs will cost about $100 billion over the next ve years.
