The Creation and Repeal of the DACA Program
On June 15, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a memorandum announcing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) initiative. The memorandum stated that certain individuals who were brought to the United States as children and met other criteria would be considered for deferred action for two years, subject to renewal.
