The Ulster Democratic Unionist Party is Northern Ireland’s second-largest unionist party, behind the UUP. It has been opposed to the Good Friday Agreement and negotiations with Sinn Féin and strongly in favor of continued union with the United Kingdom. The Reverend Ian Paisley cofounded the DUP in 1971 and has been its outspoken leader ever since.
