President Obama’s final budget proposal, delivered to Congress on February 9, included a $32 billion, 10-year plan to revamp the country’s transportation infrastructure by investing in such areas as mass transit and clean vehicle research. One item that is getting significant attention is $3.9 billion for creating and deploying driverless cars within the next decade.
