Charlene Lamb is the deputy assistant secretary for international programs in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security at the Department of State. She is responsible for the safety and security of more than 275 U.S. diplomatic facilities. She has worked for the State Department for 25 years, including 17 consecutive years stationed abroad as a Regional Security Officer [RSO] in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Kuwait, Guatemala, and Germany.
