To ensure the Nation’s future economic security and prosperity, the task force requires lawmakers to swiftly address the Nation’s long-term fiscal challenges. The Act establishes a bipartisan task force of congressional Members and Administration officials who will make bipartisan recommendations on how to substantially improve the government’s long-term fiscal imbalances. All options will be considered by the task force. Its legislative recommendations will require expedited consideration by committees of jurisdiction, a super-majority vote in each house of Congress, and then presidential approval to be enacted.
