Egypt has been a member of the UN since October 24, 1945. Mohamed Edrees is Egypt’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN. The following is excerpted from Ambassador Edrees’s statement during UN General Assembly debate on July 28, 2010. Egypt believes that all human rights are universal, indivisible, interdependent, and interrelated, and must be treated globally in a fair and equal manner, on the same footing and with the same emphasis.
