Senator Kerry was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1984. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts from 1982 to 1984. He is Chairman of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee and a member of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the Foreign Relations Committee.
