Ambassador Kenzo Oshima

Japan joined the United Nations on December 18, 1956. Japan last served on the Commission on Human Rights from 1982 to 2006. It is a candidate in the May 9, 2006, elections to serve on the Human Rights Council. Kenzo Oshima has served as Japan’s permanent representative to the UN since December 21, 2004.
