Colombia has been a member of the UN since November 5, 1945. Carlos Suarez is Colombia’s Minister Counselor to the UN. The following is excerpted from Ambassador Suárez’s statement during UN General Assembly debate on July 28, 2010. Colombia attaches special importance to the progressive improvement of access to drinking water and basic sanitation services.
