New Jersey and Washington are joined in this brief by 23 other state and local governments. The following is excerpted from the Amici Curiae Brief for Respondents as submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court on Feb. 26, 2026. The [executive] order violates the citizenship clause and the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).
