API is a national trade association representing more than 400 companies engaged in all sectors of the U.S. oil and natural gas industry, including exploration, production, refining, distribution, and marketing. The Upstream segment focuses on regulatory and legislative issues, and industry standards and practices related to the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. Mark Rubin joined API in 1988. Prior to that he worked as a petroleum engineer with Unocal and Buttes Resources in Texas.
