William Wagner, Counsel of Record The Alliance Defense Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving religious liberty and concerned with the social and legal impact of relying on international law in U.S. courts. William Wagner is a professor at the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to that, he served as a U.S. magistrate judge and a Federal prosecutor. He received his law degree from St. Louis University in 1986.
