The International Campaign to Ban Landmines was founded in 1992. It is composed of more than 1,300 groups in more than 90 countries working for a universal ban of antipersonnel landmines. In 1997, ICBL and its then-coordinator, Jody Williams, were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Stephen Goose is Executive Director of the Arms Division of Human Rights Watch, a member organization of ICBL.
