Norway signed the Mine Ban Treaty on December 3, 1997. In 2002, it donated $25.5 million for mine action activities. Arne B. Hønningstad served as Norway’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations and is currently a senior adviser to the Norway Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
