There are no firm estimates on the size of Israel’s antipersonnel landmine stockpile. The nation has known minefields along its borders and around military installations. It currently is observing a moratorium on mine exporting that expires in July 2005. Aaron Jacob served as Israel’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations until January 2003.
